About this opportunity
The Emergency Loan Fund provides short-term financial assistance to students at Robert Gordon University who find themselves in immediate financial difficulty. Emergency loans are designed to help with essential maintenance costs such as food, travel, and consumables/toiletries. These are not grants but loans that must be repaid within a maximum period of 8 weeks. The loans are capped at £50 per student, with an increase to £100 available only in exceptional circumstances. Each student can only borrow one loan at a time and must fully repay the previous loan before requesting a new one. The fund has extremely limited resources and is intended for immediate need rather than long-term financial problems. Emergency loans are not available for tuition fees, rent payments, library fines, or non-essential expenses. Students who fail to repay on time may face enrolment delays, be refused future funds, and be referred to the University's External Debt Collection Agency.
