About this opportunity

The Empower Growth Scholarship was established to provide higher education funding and support to local survivors of sex trafficking. The scholarship originated from the proceeds of farmland that was passed down through generations. In homage to ancestors who were educated women in a time when that wasn't the norm, this scholarship helps survivors of human trafficking pursue their educational goals. Eligible candidates must have completed or be currently enrolled in a rehabilitation program such as CATCH Court, HART Court, job training, or a similar central Ohio treatment program with written approval. The scholarship supports attendance at accredited two- or four-year colleges, universities, trade schools, job training programs, other career or technical programs, or master's degree programs in the United States.
