About This Opportunity

The Endangered Crafts Fund provides small grants to help support the most at-risk traditional crafts in the UK. Heritage Crafts invites craft practitioners and organizations to apply for funding for projects that support endangered or critically endangered crafts listed on the Red List of Endangered Crafts. The fund supports a range of activities including implementing changes that ensure long-term viability of heritage craft skills, direct and indirect skills transfer such as taking on apprentices or creating training materials, and continuous professional development. Since its establishment in 2019, the fund has awarded 95 grants nationally. Recipients receive not only funding but also support from the Heritage Crafts team, including mentoring, business support, and signposting to other opportunities. A number of grants are ringfenced for Essex, East Sussex, West Sussex, and Brighton and Hove, though applicants from other areas are also eligible.
