About This Opportunity

The Engineering Undergraduate Merit Scholarships program, established in 2021, provides financial support to outstanding undergraduate domestic students commencing their studies in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is generously funded by the Faculty of Engineering to encourage and support students pursuing undergraduate degrees in engineering disciplines. This scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum and is tenable for up to 4 years, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Recipients must be current school leavers who are Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or New Zealand Citizens, and must have achieved a minimum ATAR of 96 in the HSC or equivalent. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and responses to questions in the scholarship application form. Recipients are expected to maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. Additionally, recipients are expected to volunteer at Engineering Student Life events and/or mentoring programs to support student experience activities in the faculty. Preference is given to applicants who have not been offered other similar or higher value University of Sydney scholarships. The scholarship is transferable to a new degree or stream within the Faculty of Engineering, with funding provided for the original awarded duration less the period of studies already undertaken.
