English Studies Essay Contest

The English Studies Essay Contest is an award opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in a degree program in English at Eastern Illinois University. Applicants must submit an essay of at least 1200 words dealing with topics such as literary analysis or interpretation, rhetoric or composition studies, professional writing, pedagogy, or creative nonfiction. Submissions should be clean copies without instructor marks or comments, and students may submit only one entry. The entrant's name should not appear on the essay itself, which must be uploaded as a .doc or .pdf file. This award is announced and awarded in the Spring semester.
