About This Opportunity

The EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Program: EPSCoR Research Fellows (ERF) provides opportunities for early career, non-tenured, and tenured assistant/associate professor faculty from EPSCoR-eligible jurisdictions to establish strong collaborations through extended or periodic visits to premier research facilities in the United States. The fellowship enables researchers to learn new techniques, develop new collaborations, advance existing partnerships, benefit from access to unique equipment and facilities, and shift their research toward potentially transformative new directions. The program offers two tracks: EPSCoR Research Fellows: NSF (open to broad research topics supported by NSF) and EPSCoR Research Fellows: @NASA (focused on collaboration with NASA research centers). Successful fellowships are expected to have lasting impacts that enhance the Fellows' research trajectories well beyond the award period and improve the research capacity of their institutions and jurisdictions. Fellows receive salary support for up to six months, travel expenses, and support for one trainee (undergraduate, graduate student, postdoctoral researcher, or staff member). NASA track recipients receive an additional $60,000 from NASA EPSCoR to support research infrastructure at their home institution.
