About this opportunity
This EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Sensor Technologies and Applications in an Uncertain World (Sensor CDT) is a four-year research training programme. The Sensor CDT aims to train leaders in sensor development through an interdisciplinary, research-focused training programme. The first year is a Master's of Research (MRes), followed by three years of PhD research.
Full studentships are available for the Sensor CDT. These cover the stipend (at the UKRI rate), fees, and a Research and Training Support Grant (RTSG). The majority of awards are made to Home students, but up to 30% may be made to International (including EU) students. International students receiving UKRI funding are automatically eligible for the University Fee Bursary Scheme to cover the difference between the Home and International fee rates.
Approximately 10 awards are available annually. CDT-funded students are expected to abide by the UKRI training grant terms and conditions. The program provides comprehensive support including stipend, fees, and a Research Training and Support Grant for additional costs such as attending conferences, secondments, or project consumables.
