About This Opportunity

Erasmus+ Strategic Scholarships is a pilot call that aims to support the development and implementation of scholarship programs to attract talented European students to study in strategic educational fields, particularly STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The scholarships can be awarded to students at EQF levels 5, 6, or 7, meaning short-cycle programs, bachelor's or master's level. Applicants are expected to develop a concept that covers the entire scholarship journey, from concept to policy recommendations. The scholarship schemes should be linked to more than a single study program and should offer geographical balance. Study programs must relate to strategic fields defined in the call, which have been identified in the Union of Skills strategy and the strategic plan for STEM education. A requirement is that study programs include learning mobility and/or internships abroad. Each project should plan for at least 25 scholarships lasting a maximum of 3 years, with applicants encouraged to vary scholarship lengths (1, 2, or 3 years depending on study programs). Scholarships can be awarded to students residing in an Erasmus+ country who start their studies in the 2027/2028 academic year. There is also an expectation of focus on students from underrepresented groups.
