About this opportunity
The Eric Cunstance Shaw Scholarship provides up to $8,000 to assist regional or rural students to study a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor at the University of Sydney. This scholarship was established in memory of Mr Eric Cunstance Shaw (BA, LLB) from the estate of Mr Constantine Bloukos for the purposes of assisting students from rural Australia to study law at the University of Sydney.
The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic merit, regional/remote status, and a personal statement demonstrating the applicant's leadership experience, communication skills, personal interests and community engagement. It is paid as a one-off payment, with the final value determined by the selection committee.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents from an inner regional, outer regional, remote or very remote area of Australia who are commencing full-time study in a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor program within the University of Sydney Law School. The scholarship aims to support students from rural and regional areas who demonstrate strong leadership potential and community involvement.
