About this opportunity
The Erie Bailes Bredon Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her family and created at The Pittsburgh Foundation in honor of Erie Bailes Bredon, who was a hardworking elementary teacher for more than 35 years. She taught many of those years in Richwood. She began teaching after studying at home and passing the required teaching test. She attended Glenville State College summers, graduated and received her teaching certificate. The scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior of Richwood High School planning to attend a 2- or 4-year college or university. This single-year award provides an average of $1,000 to support students transitioning from high school to higher education. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and be graduating seniors from Richwood High School in Richwood, West Virginia.
