Ernest and Ellis Lewis Family Bar None Award

The Ernest and Ellis Lewis Family Bar None Award is awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the third year of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Agricultural/Food Business Management, BSc in Animal Health or the Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences degree programs in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta. The recipient will be selected on the basis of leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular and community activities. This endowed award was established by the families of Ernest and Ellis Lewis in memory of their parents. Ernest graduated from the University of Alberta in 1929 with a BSc Agriculture, and Ellis worked as a secretary for the Alberta Wheat Pool when it was first established. Ernest and Ellis farmed in the Winterburn area for forty years. Students are eligible to receive one Bar None Award or Scholarship in any given academic year.
