About this opportunity
The Ernest and Ellis Lewis Family Bar None Award in Agriculture and Agricultural/Food Business Management is awarded to a student with satisfactory academic standing entering the fourth year of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Animal Health or Bachelor of Science in Agricultural/Food Business Management degree program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences. The award recipient will be selected on the basis of leadership qualities as demonstrated by involvement in extracurricular and community activities. This endowed award was established by the families of Ernest and Ellis Lewis in memory of their parents. Ernest graduated from the University of Alberta in 1929 with a BSc Agriculture, and Ellis worked as a secretary for the Alberta Wheat Pool when it was first established. Ernest and Ellis farmed in the Winterburn area for forty years. Students are eligible to receive one Bar None Award or Scholarship in any given academic year.
