Ervin Lakusta Memorial Bursary

The Ervin Lakusta Memorial Bursary honors the legacy of Ervin Lakusta, who spent his career as a surveyor for the City of Edmonton and demonstrated exceptional kindness and generosity to students. Throughout his career, Ervin welcomed up to 6 co-op students from NAIT each year, strongly believing in the power of education and supporting students in achieving their educational goals. He dedicated two endowments in memory of his sons, Mark and Todd, and took great joy in hearing from students who benefited from his gift. This bursary is available to students enrolled in the Surveying and Geospatial Engineering Technology program at NAIT. The award is granted based on demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement, reflecting Ervin's commitment to helping students overcome financial barriers to education. The bursary provides $2,000.00 to support students pursuing their studies in surveying and geospatial engineering technology. Recipients are selected based on their financial circumstances and academic performance, ensuring that deserving students receive assistance in completing their educational programs.
