Ethicon Student Elective Award

The Ethicon Student Elective Award provides up to £500 to support medical students undertaking an approved elective in obstetrics and gynaecology. This award, offered with the support of Ethicon, aims to encourage students considering a career in the specialty, particularly those undertaking placements in low-resource settings. The award supports medical students by helping to fund elective placements in obstetrics and gynaecology. It is designed to foster interest in the specialty and provide financial assistance, especially for students choosing to undertake electives in low income countries (Band C). Winners are required to submit a short report within six months of completing their elective. The report should describe their experiences, key learnings and how the placement has influenced their future career aspirations.
