About this opportunity
This opportunity invites businesses to submit proposals for space-based applications and services that support rural transportation networks. The program addresses challenges such as limited infrastructure, low population density, and geographical obstacles in rural areas. Selected studies can access 75% funding by the European Space Agency, up to €75,000 per activity. The funding supports early-stage service concepts that address customer needs, show commercial potential and technical feasibility, and leverage satellite data or space technology. Teams carry out a feasibility study over a six-month period to develop their business case, work on technical aspects, validate the integration of satellite data and space technologies, and engage with users and customers. Focus areas include public transport enhancement, autonomous vehicle support, EV charging infrastructure, road condition monitoring, route optimization, emergency response, environmental impact assessment, and logistics management.
