Evangelisches Studienwerk: Scholarship for Doctoral Students
About This Opportunity
The Evangelisches Studienwerk Villigst provides scholarships and educational programmes for approximately 300 doctoral candidates of Protestant faith from all disciplines each year. The grants are awarded in accordance with the guidelines by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Scholarships support German and foreign nationals of Protestant faith with excellent academic standing who wish to obtain or are already studying for a doctorate at a German higher-education institution. In well-founded cases, Germans can pursue their doctorate degree at a higher education institution in a member state of the European Union, in Great Britain, in Norway or in Switzerland. The programme provides a full grant currently amounting to 1,550 EUR per month, along with a research allowance of 100 EUR and potential child care allowances for eligible candidates. Scholarships are initially awarded for a period of 3 years, with possible extension up to 3.5 years maximum.
