About this opportunity
The Evelyn Constance Alexander Scholarship in German was established in 2021 and is funded by Arizona State University Emeritus Professor John Alexander, originally from Hastings and now an academic in German in the United States. Professor Alexander established this scholarship in memory of his mother Evelyn Constance Alexander who spent one year in the Faculty of Arts aged 16 before she went on to become a teacher. The main purpose of the scholarship is to encourage the study of German at undergraduate and postgraduate level at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 annually to assist with study expenses for one student who is a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate study in German.
