About This Opportunity

The Experience in Industry Scholarship is offered by the University of Sydney Business School to enrich the student experience of placement students. Established in 2019, this scholarship provides financial support to coursework students undertaking unpaid placements as part of their Business School degree. The scholarship aims to promote the profile of the placement program while supporting students who are enrolled in the Experience in Industry units (BWIL2150 or BWIL6150). This scholarship is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students who meet specific academic and enrollment requirements. Students must be enrolled in the Business School, have completed a minimum of 24 credit points, and maintain a minimum weighted average mark (WAM) of 70. For students demonstrating financial hardship, the minimum WAM requirement is reduced to 60. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, approval to undertake the Experience in Industry unit, and demonstrated leadership capabilities or financial hardship. The scholarship provides a one-off payment of $2,500 during the first month of the placement. Recipients must undertake an approved unpaid placement during the semester and complete all program requirements. By accepting the scholarship, recipients may be required to participate in marketing and promotion of the Placement Program and represent the University of Sydney Business School at associated events.
