FACES "Fostering a Culture of Empowerment" Scholarship

The FACES Scholarship: "Fostering a Culture of Empowerment" at Westfield State University was established by Professor Mark Horwitz, PhD, MSW, JD in the department of Social Work along with his wife Julia Moss, and their children. With their generous contribution, they hope to assist students who have lived in foster care at some point during their childhood, have financial need and are involved with FACES. The scholarship is designed to support students with foster care backgrounds who are actively engaged with the F.A.C.E.S. Program at Westfield State University. This award recognizes the unique challenges faced by students who have experienced foster care and provides financial assistance to help them achieve their educational and career goals. The scholarship reflects the university's commitment to supporting underrepresented and vulnerable student populations in their pursuit of higher education.
