Faculty of Arts Entrance Scholarship for Studies in Humanities

The Faculty of Arts Entrance Scholarship for Studies in Humanities is offered annually to undergraduate students entering their first year in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Calgary. The scholarship is designed to support students majoring in programs from humanities departments including English, Classics and Religion, Philosophy, and the School of Languages, Linguistics, Literatures and Cultures with specific majors in French, Italian Studies, Spanish, Russian, German, East Asian Studies or East Asian Language Studies. This entrance scholarship recognizes superior academic achievement for incoming first-year students. Applicants must demonstrate a scholarship average of 85% or higher from their high school studies. The award value can reach up to $3,200 CAD, with a variable number of scholarships awarded each year depending on available funding from various donors. The scholarship is an internal award administered through the University of Calgary's Office of the Registrar. Eligible students must apply through the My UCalgary Portal for High School Awards. There are no citizenship or residency restrictions, making the scholarship available to both domestic and international students entering the Faculty of Arts in a qualifying humanities program.
