About This Opportunity

The Faculty of Engineering Women in Engineering Scholarship is a $10,000 scholarship established in 2023 to support and encourage female undergraduate domestic students commencing their studies in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 for one year and is paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Eligible applicants must be Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or New Zealand Citizens who identify as female and are enrolling in a full-time undergraduate program (including combined degrees) offered by the Faculty of Engineering. Applicants must have achieved an ATAR of 90 and above in the HSC or equivalent, or gained admission through any admission pathways and entry schemes. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit as demonstrated by performance in the HSC or equivalent, as well as responses to questions in the scholarship application form. Recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship. The scholarship is not deferrable and cannot be held concurrently with other Faculty of Engineering scholarships valued at $6,000 or more awarded for the same purpose.

Review process

Applications are reviewed based on academic merit from HSC or equivalent performance and responses to scholarship application questions. Awards are decided by the Associate Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Engineering or their nominated delegate.
