About This Opportunity

This scholarship is intended to provide financial support for domestic students undertaking a second rural placement (domestic students are only eligible for one NSW Rural Allied Health Clinical Placement Grant (HETI) per calendar year) or international students undertaking a rural placement as they are not eligible for an NSW Rural Allied Health Clinical Placement Grant (HETI). The scholarship supports students enrolled in Health Science, Nursing, or Master of Nutrition & Dietetics degrees who are undertaking mandatory coursework placements in NSW rural locations. The placement location must be more than 60km from both the University of Sydney and the student's residential address and classified as rural under the Rural, Remote and Metropolitan Area (RRMA) system or the Modified Monash Model (MMM 3-7). The scholarship provides up to $1000 to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with rural clinical placements, calculated at $100 per week for each week of the placement, with a maximum of 10 weeks. This funding helps ensure that students can complete essential rural placements as part of their degree requirements without facing financial barriers, particularly for those undertaking a second rural placement or international students who are ineligible for other placement grants.
