About this opportunity

This Scholarship has been established to provide financial assistance to an outstanding PhD student who is undertaking research within a flagship or impact research centre in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney. The Scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the University of Sydney Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend rate for up to 3.5 years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The successful applicant will be awarded the Scholarship on the basis of academic merit, area of study and research proposal, previous research experience, and letter of confirmation of nomination from the Director of one of the Faculty's flagship or impact research centres. This is a competitive scholarship funded by the Faculty of Medicine and Health designed to support doctoral research within their priority research centres.

Review process

Candidates are assessed and ranked against paid work experience (20%), publications (60%, with most points going to first authored Q1 journal publications), and other research outputs (20%). Student assessment accounts for 60% of final score, while remaining 40% is based on supervisor's professionalism and collegiality rating.
