Farah & Farah Empowering Greatness Scholarship

The Farah & Farah Empowering Greatness Scholarship, launched in 2020, is inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s words about service and greatness. Since its inception, the scholarship has awarded over $200,000 in tuition assistance to 30 exceptional students in Florida who have demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to community service. The scholarship awards 5 high school seniors with a Florida Prepaid College Foundation 2-Year College Plan that covers tuition for 60 credit hours at any Florida public college. The plan value can also be applied to universities or trade schools in Florida. This scholarship is a partnership with the Florida Prepaid College Foundation and is specifically available to students affiliated with a Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the state of Florida. Applicants must be Florida residents, rising seniors in Fall 2025, attending public or charter high schools in Florida, and planning to pursue a college degree or certification in Florida. The selection process includes an initial application review by a scholarship committee using a rubric, with the top 10% of applicants advancing to a judges' panel for final selections.
