About this opportunity
The Farrand Scholarship in Mathematical Sciences is an undergraduate scholarship valued at $2,500 annually for two years, supporting students commencing studies in the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. Established in 2025, this scholarship has been generously donated by the Estate of Annie Farrand in memory of her and her mother Annie Elizabeth Farrand. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and responses to questions in the application form. Preference is given to students who demonstrate challenges such as disrupted schooling, financial difficulties, family disruption, refugee status, rural/regional backgrounds, low socio-economic areas, or identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Recipients must be domestic students who are recent school leavers with unconditional offers of admission to full-time study in the Bachelor of Mathematical Sciences degree. The scholarship is paid in two equal instalments per year after each semester's census date.
