Faye and David Huestis Leadership Award

The Faye and David Huestis Leadership Award is granted to a student who is a member of the UPEI Women's Basketball Team in good academic standing, and has demonstrated leadership on and off the court and within the greater community through volunteer efforts and/or working with specific charitable outreach activities. This award was established in July 2024 by the Faye and David Huestis Family Foundation to support a member of the UPEI Women's Basketball Team. David Huestis is a successful insurance entrepreneur who built the Huestis Insurance Group to over 40 agencies across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. The Huestis family has a strong history of volunteerism and community involvement, including church activities, foundation work, and support for the World Scout Foundation. This award reflects their commitment to recognizing leadership and community service in student-athletes.
