About This Opportunity

The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz offers fellowships for doctoral students and postdocs from Germany and abroad in the field of digital humanities. The funding enables researchers to design or continue a research project using digital humanities methods to pursue questions related to the historical foundations of Europe. There is particular interest in projects that tie in with ongoing research at the IEG, including current research projects in the field of Digitality in Historical Research and the DH Lab. Fellows have the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate with researchers in this field. The program is designed for historians working in the humanities who use digital methods in their research. Fellows are expected to be active members of the IEG's research community, participate in weekly colloquia and scholarly activities, and present their work at least once during their stay. The fellowship includes mentorship by the institute's scientific staff and involvement in the IEG's research group focused on digital historical research.
