About this opportunity
The Fenner Merit Scholarship is a supplementary scholarship offered by the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) at the Australian National University in honour of eminent Australian and former JCSMR scientist Professor Frank Fenner. The scholarship is intended to attract students of high calibre to pursue graduate research at the John Curtin School of Medical Research.
Fenner Merit Scholarships will be awarded annually to high-ranked applicants who have been awarded a PhD stipend scholarship tenable at JCSMR. The scholarship offers a stipend of $10,000 per annum for up to 3 years, paid fortnightly in arrears. The number of scholarships available may vary from year to year.
To be awarded a Fenner Merit Scholarship, students must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident of Australia or international student of high calibre; enrolled in a PhD program at JCSMR; and in receipt of a base/primary stipend scholarship. Students are selected on the basis of academic merit, and there is no separate application process as applicants for the JCSMR PhD program will automatically be considered for the award.
