About This Opportunity

The Guaranteed Minimum Funding Award provides accepted PhD students at the University of Regina with a minimum of $15,500 per year in funding for up to four years. This funding is divided between two sources: FGSR provides $8,000 and the Supervisor/Unit/Faculty provides $7,500. The FGSR portion is provided in three payments based on semesters and is not attached to any required work. The portion from Supervisor/Unit/Faculty may come in various forms including Teaching Assistantships, Stipends, or Research Assistantships. Students must maintain a minimum 80% average and be registered full-time in at least 6 credit hours each semester. The award is automatically provided to all accepted PhD students without requiring a separate application. Students who receive tri-council funding of $40,000 or more are ineligible for this program during their major award period. Clinical Psychology PhD students are eligible for only 3 years (9 semesters) of funding per their program requirements.
