About this opportunity
The FGSR Women in STEM Entrance Scholarship is designed to support women entering graduate studies in STEM disciplines at the University of Regina. The scholarship is open to all faculties to ensure any female STEM student may be nominated by their faculty. Each scholarship is valued at $10,000, paid out over two consecutive semesters at $5,000 per semester. The scholarship is specifically for entering students in their first semester of a Master's or Doctoral degree program in STEM fields. Recipients must be fully-qualified graduate students who identify as women and have a minimum first class average (equivalent to 80%) when entering their program. Students must complete Grad Thrive Plus GRST 801 by the end of their first semester and maintain full-time registration with at least six credit hours each semester. The scholarship aims to support women pursuing STEM-related careers and does not restrict employment while holding the award. Nominations are accepted twice per year in late winter and late summer.
