First Generation Student Scholarship

The First Generation Student Scholarship aims to support first generation college students who are passionate about making a difference in global health, providing them with resources to pursue their goals. The selection committee evaluates various factors, prioritizing candidates who demonstrate a commitment to their communities and a genuine interest in global health. Preference may be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and those who have had limited opportunities to engage in global health education programs. This scholarship covers the total program cost of a CFHI place-based program in select international locations including Tarija, Quito, Puyo, Kabale, Mukono, Durban, Dehradun, or Delhi. The scholarship is designed to enable first-generation students to participate in at least 4-week long global health programs taking place in 2026, helping them gain international experience in healthcare and public health settings.
