About this opportunity
The First Nations Cancer Scholarship Program is funded by the Australian Government through Cancer Australia and established by the Aurora Education Foundation. This scholarship supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduate students, health professionals, and early-career researchers to undertake full-time postgraduate study (graduate certificate, masters or PhD) or research in a cancer-related field. The purpose is to support Scholars in building the skills and knowledge required to inform strategies to improve cancer outcomes for Indigenous communities and increase the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders in cancer-related fields. The program offers up to four scholarships annually between 2024 and 2026, providing comprehensive financial support and tailored academic and wellbeing assistance. This is a powerful opportunity to grow the next generation of leaders in cancer-related fields by building skills, knowledge, and leadership capacity among Indigenous students and researchers who are committed to improving cancer outcomes for Indigenous communities.
