About this opportunity
The Fishburn Family Scholarship Fund was established with funds donated to the Karen Fishburn Memorial Fund after her passing in September 2013. Karen was known for her dedication to numerous Morrow County organizations and countless hours of volunteer work for organizations such as the Red Cross, Key Ministries, Morrow County Association of Business Women, Morrow Country Board of Elections, and Marengo United Methodist Church. Her community outpouring at her calling hours resulted in the creation of this scholarship.
Annual scholarships from this fund honor Karen Fishburn's memory and legacy of community service for many years to come. The scholarship supports graduating seniors from Highland Local Schools in Sparta, Ohio, though past recipients and other Morrow County school applicants will not be excluded. Recipients must pursue a four-year degree full-time at an educational institution in the United States.
Candidates must maintain a minimum 2.7 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and be U.S. citizens. The scholarship provides a minimum award of $2,000 to help students pursue their higher education goals.
