About this opportunity

This grant supports activities related to predator management in Norway, including hunting, culling, and capture of large predators. The funding covers two main areas: (1) measures that contribute to more effective hunting, culling and capture, including relevant courses and training for hunters participating in quota hunting, licensed culling and damage culling of predators, as well as purchase of legal equipment and other expenses that can contribute to more effective culling; and (2) support for municipalities for facilitation, organization and preparation for future damage culling assignments. Municipalities can apply for grants to facilitate future damage culling assignments, including training activities, technical aids, communication equipment, and other materials or activities that provide a basis for increased efficiency in future damage culling assignments. The scheme is part of the broader FKT program (preventive and conflict-reducing measures) that aims to limit losses and damages that predators can cause to livestock in agriculture, as well as conflict-reducing measures to limit disadvantages for local communities and other groups.
