Flora Murchison Memorial Scholarship in Applied Human Sciences

The Flora Murchison Memorial Scholarship in Applied Human Sciences is awarded to a returning student majoring in Foods & Nutrition or Family Science who is in good academic standing and has displayed extraordinary volunteerism and leadership on campus and in the greater community. This award is one of four established through the estate of Evelyn Patricia "Patty" Matheson, who passed away at the age of 98. Based on her belief in the value of post-secondary education, Evelyn Matheson left a substantial bequest to the University of Prince Edward Island, including funding for four scholarships and a major residual and undesignated gift. This specific award honours her aunt, Flora Murchison, and is designed to support students in Applied Human Sciences, formerly known as Family and Nutritional Sciences.
