Flora Saxby Hawkes Memorial Scholarship in English

The Flora Saxby Hawkes Memorial Scholarship in English is awarded to students who have exhibited excellence in the classroom in the field of English. Recipients must be accepted to Eastern Illinois University with Junior or Senior class status, maintain an overall GPA greater than 3.0, and have a declared major in English. Recipients must be in good academic standing at the time of the award. Financial need may be used as a determining factor in the case of two equally qualified students. Recipients are eligible to reapply and receive the award again provided they continue to meet the stated criteria. This award is announced and paid in the Spring semester.
