About This Opportunity

The Sarasota-Manatee Chapter of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors from Sarasota and Manatee counties who plan to attend Florida A&M University in the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarships range from $250 to $1,000 and are awarded at three levels based on academic achievement. The Dr. Fredrick Humphries Academic Scholarship is awarded to students with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and above, the Eddie Rainey Achievers Scholarship to students with a GPA of 3.0-3.49, and the Waite Bellamy Book Award to students with a GPA of 2.85-2.99. Selection criteria include academic achievement, financial need, community service, and extra-curricular activities participated in during the applicant's high school years. Recipients are required to meet with the scholarship committee during winter break to update the chapter on their progress at FAMU.
