About this opportunity
The Floyd Trainor Award is granted to a deserving student in Creative Arts, Journalism, or Fine Arts programming at the University of Prince Edward Island. The award honors Floyd Trainor, a graphic artist who was employed by UPEI in the graphics department and was a member of CUPE Local 1870. Floyd Trainor was a well-known graphic illustrator and artist during his tenure at UPEI. When he passed away, CUPE Local 1870 established this award in his name to recognize and support a deserving UPEI student. It was determined that a prize for studio arts courses was an appropriate way to remember Floyd Trainor and celebrate his artistic legacy. The award is recommended by the Studio Arts department at UPEI.
