About this opportunity

The Fonterra Massey University Pasifika Undergraduate Scholarship is designed to support Pasifika students enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies at Massey University in science or technology degrees. This scholarship is a partnership between Fonterra, a New Zealand dairy co-operative, and Massey University, aimed at attracting Pacific talents into the dairy industry and STEM fields. The scholarship includes specialized mentorship from both the Office of Pacific Success at Massey University and from Fonterra to support recipients throughout their study journey. Valued at up to $65,000 over four years, the scholarship provides an annual stipend of $5,000 plus a paid summer internship each year worth approximately $11,000 at the Fonterra Research and Development Centre in Palmerston North. Recipients will gain hands-on experience working alongside world-class dairy professionals and innovative food scientists who are driving dairy industry innovation. The scholarship is designed to help students not only complete their studies successfully but also develop professional skills and industry connections. The scholarship seeks first-year Pasifika students of good character who are actively engaged in their communities. Recipients are expected to serve as role models in supporting other Pasifika students in STEM fields. Selection is based on academic performance, character, and demonstrated community engagement. The program includes both academic and professional development opportunities, providing comprehensive support for students throughout their undergraduate journey in science or technology disciplines.
