About this opportunity
The Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) is offering funding for a doctoral programme (forskarskola) in polar research. The purpose of the grant is to strengthen competence in polar research and increase national and international collaboration by contributing to doctoral education. Through doctoral schools, future competence supply in the area is secured and strengthened. The initiative is based on a government mandate and aims to secure the growth of excellent researchers and further strengthen Sweden's international impact in polar research. The doctoral school must be led by at least two Swedish universities in collaboration, with a minimum of 9 doctoral students employed at the participating institutions during their education. The programme should create a structured educational offering with joint courses and seminars of high scientific and pedagogical quality that should be nationally and preferably internationally accessible. A coordinator from the host organization will be invited as project leader for the application.
