About this opportunity
This funding opportunity from the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet) aims to organize and conduct doctoral education to strengthen the research connection in teacher education across its various tracks and to expand educational capacity while maintaining quality. The grant supports national doctoral schools in educational sciences that must be affiliated with at least two Swedish universities/colleges working in collaboration. The doctoral school must have a structured educational offering with joint courses and seminars of high scientific and pedagogical quality that should be nationally and preferably internationally accessible. The program must include at least 9 doctoral students employed within teacher education at a Swedish university during their studies, have a clear organization and leadership structure, and demonstrate a plan for internationalization of doctoral education. The funding comes from a government assignment to strengthen teacher education research capacity in Sweden.

Review process
Applications are assessed by an international review panel of researchers. At least three members review and rate each application individually. The entire review panel meets to discuss and prioritize applications and submit a proposal to the Educational Sciences Committee.
