About this opportunity

The Forskerstipend (Research Grant) supports Norwegian researchers for research and/or teaching stays at institutions in the United States. The program is open to researchers affiliated with universities and research institutions in Norway, as well as applicants without formal affiliation to a Norwegian institution. All academic fields are eligible. The grant amount starts from NOK 250,000. The stay duration ranges from 3 to 12 months, with earliest start date of August 1, 2026 and latest start date of May 31, 2027. Applicants must have completed a PhD before departure or demonstrate equivalent academic experience at the time of application. The grant is personal and not needs-based, and can be used as the applicant deems most appropriate without requiring accounting to Fulbright. Applicants are responsible for establishing contact with a US research institution and must include an invitation letter with their application.
