About this opportunity

This funding opportunity aims to stimulate new knowledge for societal transformation within nature's limits while ensuring good societies characterized by welfare and quality of life. It focuses on a green and just transition to a low-emission society that protects climate and nature and has legitimacy and trust from the population. The transformation requires access to labor and competence and reducing the use of energy and other scarce resources. Applications should address societal, political, economic or cultural prerequisites and barriers for a green and just transition, where research independence and critical perspectives are important. Projects must fall under at least one of six defined research areas covering dilemmas, distributional effects, consequences of power relations, alternatives to economic growth paradigms, energy transition prerequisites, and climate adaptation measures.
