About this opportunity

This grant supports research on Norway's ability to prevent and manage various crises and events that threaten fundamental values, functions and infrastructure in society, and that endanger life and health. The funding aims to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation and competence development across sectors and through interdisciplinary perspectives, providing knowledge and solutions necessary to address important societal challenges. Projects must address societal security and emergency preparedness in and for Norway, Norwegian maritime areas and/or polar regions. Research can be both basic and applied, focusing on risk assessment, risk management, prevention, monitoring, warning, adaptation and crisis management at local, regional and national levels. Thematic areas include energy supply security, national food security, climate change adaptation, polar interests, international security cooperation, civil preparedness, and prevention of organized crime.
