Fort Vale Foundation Fund

The Fort Vale Foundation Fund has been established through donations received from Fort Vale Engineering Ltd. The Foundation was created by Edward S. Fort OBE LLD (Hon), Founder and Chairman of Fort Vale Engineering Ltd, with the main theme of supporting local people and grassroots organisations in North East Lancashire. The fund is keen to receive project applications from grassroots groups focusing on children and young people, training and education (particularly STEM subjects), sport, the environment and climate, medical advancement, and community integration/cohesion. The fund supports a wide range of charitable projects benefiting people within Pendle, Burnley, and Ribble Valley. Applications where the grant will improve outputs that a group can achieve will be given priority for funding, such as allowing for increased number of beneficiaries, further reach, or additionality in delivery. The Fort Vale Foundation wishes to be the principal funder for a project and is unlikely to support applications where the grant would be a small contribution to a much wider project cost. The fund will consider revenue and small capital projects, with eligible costs including staffing, volunteer costs, activity/operational costs, training costs, small capital items such as equipment and IT, and a proportion of organisational overheads.
