About This Opportunity

The Francis Henry Loxton Equity Scholarship is a postgraduate coursework scholarship established in 2019 using bequest funds to support students enrolled in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney who are experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 per annum and is tenable for one year, paid in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. Applicants must be male domestic students (Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents, or New Zealand Citizens) who are either commencing or currently enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. They must be able to demonstrate financial hardship via the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) Equity Scholarship. The scholarship is awarded based on academic merit and evidence of financial hardship. To maintain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester and remain enrolled full-time in the eligible degree. The scholarship may be terminated if the recipient withdraws from the course, fails to maintain satisfactory academic performance, accepts an alternative scholarship valued at $6,000 or more for the same purpose, or is found guilty of serious misconduct.
