About this opportunity

The Francis M Hooper Scholarship for Medical Research is a postgraduate scholarship established in 2012 through a gift from Francis M Hooper. The scholarship supports outstanding Masters by Research or PhD scholars at the Sydney Medical School conducting research into Alzheimer's disease, cancer, heart disease, or medically related basic biology research. The scholarship provides a stipend allowance equivalent to the minimum rate of the Research Training Program (RTP) stipend scholarship, for up to two years for a Master's by research and up to three years for a PhD, subject to satisfactory academic performance. PhD applicants may apply for an extension of up to six months. Applicants must be Australian citizens, permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens, and must have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled at Sydney Medical School. Selection is based on academic merit, area of study and research proposal, and previous research experience.
