About this opportunity
The Frank Aherne Undergraduate Award is awarded to a student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 entering or enrolled in the fourth year of the BSc. in Agriculture or BSc. in Animal Health program in the Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Alberta. The award supports students who are involved with hands-on learning experience related to food animal production. This will include practical experience in a professional, industrial, or research setting at the University of Alberta, a partner institution, or a government research facility. The recipient will be selected on the basis of academic standing and the proposed experiential learning opportunity. This endowed award was established by friends and industry partners of Frank Aherne, who served as Professor of Animal Science from 1972-1995 and Professor Emeritus from 1995-2005.
