About this opportunity
The Frank and Audrey Senn, Sr. Memorial Scholarship Fund honors Frank (1916-1999) and Audrey (1920-2006) Senn, devoted members of Trinity Methodist Church in Newberry, SC, who believed strongly in the power of education and were lifelong learners. Both were raised with a deep understanding of the importance of education in the deep South agricultural community during the 1930s and 1940s. This scholarship is dedicated to offering Trinity Church's young people the opportunity to continue their education after high school.
The purpose of the scholarship is to provide college, technical or trade school scholarships to students who are members or regular attenders of Trinity United Methodist Church (Newberry, SC) or its youth ministry, Methodist Youth Fellowship. The scholarship provides at least $1,000 annually and is renewable for up to four years for students who maintain eligibility requirements.
Applicants are selected based on Christian character, academic success, leadership potential, and church loyalty. The scholarship requires students to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for graduating seniors or 2.7 GPA for current undergraduate students, and to attend school full-time at a university, college, technical or trade school. Recipients must maintain a 2.7 GPA to renew their award each subsequent year.
