About this opportunity

The Frank Foulds Bar None Entrance Leadership Award is presented to a student entering the University of Alberta from high school in a Bachelor of Science program in Agriculture, Animal Health, or Nutrition and Food Sciences. The award recognizes students with satisfactory academic standing who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, community engagement, volunteerism, and/or involvement in extracurricular activities. Preference is given to students with indicated financial need. The award was endowed in 2000 by Michael Bevan, Bachelor of Science Agriculture '45, who was himself a student leader, volunteer, editor and managing director of The Gateway, sportsman, and RCAF officer. This award honors the memory of Frank Foulds, a mentor and Rotarian who served as the Grain Commissioner of Alberta and was extremely influential in the field of agriculture.
